Tornadoes were reported west of La Grange Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued tornado warnings in the area because of severe thunderstorms that developed in Fayette County, according to meteorologist Brett Williams.

The tornado reports will not be verified by the National Weather Service until they dispatch a survey team to inspect the damage in the area, Williams said.

Photos shared by the Fayette County EMS page show the damage caused by the storm.

The majority of the damage was reported west of Highway 71, Williams said.

The photos showed toppled structures, downed power lines and crushed cars.
